"Children are not things to be molded, but are people to be unfolded"

                                                                                            -Jess Lair

Marian Boehl is a graduate of the nationally recognized piano pedagogy program at Schoolcraft College in Livonia, Michigan. She is a member of the National Music Teachers Association, The Michigan Music Teachers Association, and the Ann Arbor Piano Teachers Guild.

Mrs. Boehl has been teaching piano since 1996.  Forty-five minute or hourly weekly lessons are offered according to the needs of each individual student. All students can expect to study technique, theory and a variety of musical styles. A challenging and rewarding repertoire will be developed in response to the student's interest.

PRE-COLLEGE STUDENTS

Pre-college students will have the opportunity to perform in three recitals each year. Group Performance Classes are offered prior to each recital.

A pre-college testing program will be offered each year through the Michigan Music Teachers Association. Students perform three memorized pieces for a judge and are tested in theory, sight-reading, transposition and aural awareness. Success is rewarded with annual certificates and bi-annual trophies!

ADULT STUDENTS

The same concept of "unfolding" instead of molding is applied to adult students.  Music the adult student is interested in playing will be studied and many different styles of music will be introduced. Technique and theory are presented within the context of the music. Beginners are welcome!
