My 9 year old daughter, Anna, has been taking piano lessons with Mrs. Boehl for almost 4 years. We are very impressed with her teaching style and musical knowledge. Mrs. Boehl doesn't just teach her students how to play piano pieces. She also introduces musical theory and develops their technical skills during class and assigned practice routines. Our son has been studying piano with Mrs. Boehl since 2012. He had started with 45 minute lessons in his younger years, and then moved up to hour long sessions. Mrs Boehl has been an excellent teacher and guide for his musical studies. So much so, that he thinks of her as part of our family of friends, not just a teacher. She has given him the technique and methods for him to hone his gift into what is the largest part of his life - his passion for music, and especially the piano. We also have noted the many students she has guided along the way during recital performances. Watching the students learn and grow has been another reward that our son shares. In 2015 our family was looking for a piano teacher for our 8-year-old son when we were introduced to Mrs. Boehl. Mrs. Boehl has been his piano teacher ever since. Mrs. Boehl has done a wonderful job teaching music to our son. She has also been outstanding in accommodating our schedules throughout the years. This is a large part of why our son is able to continue with music today. We appreciate Mrs. Boehl so much. She is patient, holds her students to a high standard, and is great to work with. Our son started studying extracurricular music theory and piano with Mrs. Boehl in 2008 when he was five years old, and he continued for 12 years. Over this time, his abilities quickly progressed, and he moved to an hour session once per week. Through Mrs. Boehl's patience and dedication to teaching intricate fingering techniques of more complicated piano pieces, he learned to play pieces from his heart. My son is proud never to have missed earning a progress trophy during the Michigan Music Teachers Association annual student achievement testing. With Mrs. Boehl's guidance, he also discovered how to connect to an audience's emotions through music beyond what words can communicate. He still applies the valuable learning skills he gained from Mrs. Boehl today, like focus, practice, and dedication, to all of his studies at the university. In addition, my younger daughter has been studying with Mrs. Boehl for about three years now, so she can also learn these valuable life skills that she will always carry with her.
